The streaming service from the House of Mouse can be streamed on quite a few devices, with the Nintendo Switch being notably absent from supported devices.
Disney+, the newest streaming service to enter the market, is here — at least in Canada, the U.S., and the Netherlands. At a cost of US$6.99/CA$8.99/€6.99 per month or US$69.99/CA$89.99/€69.99 per year, the service offers tons of past and new original content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
If you’re unsure of how to watch Disney+ on your devices, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! The streaming service from the House of Mouse can be streamed on quite a few devices, with the Nintendo Switch being notably absent from supported devices.
You can currently stream and watch Disney+ on the following devices (links where available):
- Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets
- Android smartphones, tablets, and Android TV
- Apple TV, iPad, and iPhone
- Desktop web browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
- Google Chromecast
- LG smart TVs
- PlayStation 4
- Roku streaming devices and Roku TVs
- Samsung smart TVs
- Sony smart TVs with Android TV
- Xbox One
We’ve personally installed it on an Android device (Pixel 4 XL), iPhone, iPad, Xbox One X, a Samsung 2019 Smart TV, and an Android TV smart bar. The process is pretty simple, install the app from the links above, create an account, set up payment, and you’ll be on your way. You can also set up multiple profiles (up to six) and designate some as kid accounts for content filtering. In addition, the service lets you stream to up to four devices at once, as well as download movies and TV shows for offline viewing to up to 10 devices.
Disney has made the login process pretty easy as well. I first installed it on my phone, then when I installed it on my Xbox One X and JBL Link Bar, all I had to do was open the app on my phone and was then prompted to approve logins for the other devices (one at a time) on the same network. Easy peasy.
Of course, as is usually the case as of late, the Disney+ launch wasn’t as smooth as the company would have hoped. We encountered intermittent connection and login issues throughout the day, and it doesn’t look like we were alone.
That being said, when we were able to get on the service, there’s definitely a bounty of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and other content to be consumed. The kids enjoyed digging into past Disney shows, as well as classics like Steamboat Willie. The company is aiming to bring over 7,500 television episodes and over 500 film titles to Disney+ in the first year.
Some of the new original content is slated to be released as follows:
- Tuesday, November 12
- The Mandalorian – Chapter 1
- High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Episode 101 – “The Audition”
- Lady and the Tramp (2019)
- Noelle

- Marvel’s Hero Project – Episode 101 – “Sensational Jordan”

- The World According to Jeff Goldblum – Episode 103 – “Tattoos”
- Forky Asks A Question – “What is art?”
Based on the initial release schedules, it looks like new content will be released every Friday. It is a bit of a bummer that Disney isn’t pulling a Netflix style release with its original TV programming and dropping entire seasons at once. I guess we’ll just have to re-learn to be patient and get used to having to wait a week between episodes again.
And there you have it, that’s how you can watch Disney+ on just about any device you can think of. If you’re in Australia, New Zealand, or Puerto Rico, you can start streaming on November 19th. As for the rest of the world, the streaming service will be rolling out over the next year with the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Ireland slated for March 2020.
