Music startup BeatConnect raises $1.86 million in funding ahead of major relaunch

Montreal-based tech startup BeatConnect is hitting all the right notes in the music collaboration scene, having recently secured an impressive $1.86 million ($2.25M CAD) in funding ahead of its highly anticipated relaunch slated for late spring.

The round was led by multi-strategy investment firm Sfermion, which contributed a substantial $1.25 million investment to the round. BeatConnect also saw participation from FICC (Fonds d’investissement de la culture et des communications), Angel investor network Anges Québec, and Triptyq Capital.

Founded in 2020 by Alexandre Turbide and Nicholas Laroche, BeatConnect has been on a mission to revolutionize online music engagement. By seamlessly integrating various aspects of music production into a single platform, BeatConnect’s proprietary technology sets it apart, making it the go-to destination for musicians looking to collaborate in real time.

Unlike its competitors, BeatConnect boasts the unique ability to sync with any third-party app, breaking down technological barriers and fostering a standardized ecosystem conducive to collaboration, learning, and monetization.

As the startup gears up for its major relaunch this spring, it’s not just fine-tuning its platform but also adding a layer of gamification to elevate the user experience. Utilizing the Unity game engine, BeatConnect aims to introduce a gamified music-making experience, enhancing interactivity and engagement for its global user base.

With its reputation for fostering immersive and collaborative environments, BeatConnect has attracted investors who recognize the convergence of gaming and music and are eager to support its vision. The forthcoming relaunch promises to redefine music creation by infusing it with gaming dynamics, offering a comprehensive overhaul of BeatConnect’s multiplayer Digital Audio Workstation (mDAW) along with new functionalities aimed at empowering creators worldwide.
