New Cosmetology Training Program Available At Vatterott College Fairview Heights Campus

Vatterott College, located at 110 Commercial Lane in Fairview Heights, Ill. announces the addition of a Cosmetology diploma program to its course catalog. The course offers hands-on cosmetology training in St. Louis, at the Fairview Heights campus, in a real-world environment.

The program gives students the opportunity to work on actual customers in the attached salon, Salon Cosmetique. Instructors will teach a variety of different techniques for haircutting, hair shaping, and color processes and the art of facials, manicures, pedicures and massages. This cosmetology program covers communication, professional image, clinical procedures, and sanitation laws, in addition to salon business and management. The goal of the program is to prepare students with the skills necessary to pass state exams and licensing. Graduates who successfully pass these exams will be certified to perform standard cosmetology services in beauty salons.

Students enrolled in this Cosmetology diploma program will earn 1,500 clock hours over a 50 or 60 week program. Cosmetology courses at Vatterott College- Fairview Heights will begin on September 9, 2012. Day cosmetology students will attend class six hours per day Monday through Friday over a course of 50 weeks. Evening students will attend for five hours per day Monday through Thursday and Saturday for 60 weeks.
